Surfers’ iconic Sandbar has been redesigned with a new direction, look and menu offering casual beachfront dining where quality takes front of house. A family owned business for over 20 years, these good time dealers know how to welcome locals and visitors with traditional GC hospitality. Situated on the Surfers Paradise esplande, Sandbar offers a relaxed yet stylish atmosphere where guests can stroll in, day or night, and be greeted by a friendly host who personally looks after them while dining.
In true Sandbar style, it’s an establishment where old-school service meets modern alfresco stylings. Equally impressive brekky, lunch and dinner menus are complemented by a huge drinks list including the second largest craft beer list in Queensland and the largest on the Coast. With over 100 domestic and international brands behind the bar, there’s a craft beer catering to all pedantic palettes from pale ales to stouts, bitters to lagers, saisons to sous. Specialising in local beers, ale connoisseurs will find regional favourites brewed by the best, think Balter, Black Hops, Burleigh Brewing, Currumbin Valley and Lost Palms. There’s always something new to savour as well like a super-fresh New England India Pale Ale (NEIPA) or try limited and seasonal releases from leading Australian and international breweries. The killer brews that Bar Manager Dave Macklin continues to pour include Black Hops Code Red India Pale Ale (IPA), Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA and anything by Modus Operandi - he currently loves the very sought after Silent Knight Porter. If the weather’s really hot, Dave recommends a thirst quenching Colonial Draught Kolsch or Hop Nation Punch Mango Gose to hit the spot.
The delicious new menu was created by Executive Chef Maxie Hill, a proud protégé of famous TV chef Rick Stein. Featuring fresh local produce creatively crafted into exciting dishes, this breath of fresh fare has been well received by discerning locals and visitors alike. Private functions at Sandbar are also a great idea for those wanting to truly impress guests in Sandbar’s unique beachfront style.
Live music, epic New Year’s Eve parties and special events (like the custom Motosocial bike show) only add to what has always been an iconic dining and entertainment destination. Bikinis and board shorts by day, dress to impress by night; when you visit Sandbar it’s all about living in the moment and sharing in their motto, to enjoy “Good times - all the time”.
