Sunday, June 18 from 12pm, Sandbar is revving up a custom bike show with local classic biker enthusiasts rolling up to show off their one of kind, two-wheeled works of art.

Cool café racers, rugged scramblers and ratty bobbers will fill the iconic beachfront venue with biker meal and drinks specials, live music and prizes all up for grabs until the sun sets over the highways of the western Hinterland.

The reasons are many as to why so many bike enthusiasts live on the Gold Coast; the idyllic year-round weather, an envious work-life balance and winding hinterland roads recognised as some of the world’s best in biker circles. Every weekend, thousands converge on the hills of Currumbin Valley, Tomewin, Beachmont and Mount Tamborine to put their bikes and riding skills to the test on sweepers and switch-backs surrounded by natural rainforest beauty.

The inaugural Motosocial Gold Coast has seen support flow in from this local bike community and businesses keen to fuel-up for a full day of custom bike bliss. With plans for event expansion on the annual Gold Coast event calendar, Motosocial starts with a group ride rolling out at 10am from co-sponsor Iron and Resin Garage in Currumbin, up into the Gold Coast Hinterland followed by a winter wind back down into Surfers Paradise to the Sandbar for the show, lunch and live tunes from local blues band, the James Street Preachers and well-renowned vinyl spinner, DJ Bonnas. Other local businesses quick to sponsor this Gold Coast first include local bike builder, Purpose Built Moto, riding gear label, Death Collective and Currumbin beer barons, Balter Brewing Company.

The new look Sandbar launched this year and after twenty-years of serving Surfers Paradise locals and visitors, have now committed to staging quality cultural events with a difference; Motosocial being first-off on the drop of the chequered flag. It’s all about making Surfers the cool entertainment capital of the Gold Coast it was famous for in days gone by.
